The day has arrived! On Wednesday the 18th of June, our team will be covering an incredible 34 miles, the same distance between our Newbury and Devizes offices along the Kennet and Avon Canal. That’s 2,735 pool lengths! We are supported by David Lloyd Newbury, who has been kind enough to provide us their outside pool for us to use for this challenge.
We’re swimming in support of five incredible local charities that make a huge impact in the communities we call home:
- Julia’s House (Devizes) and Naomi House & Jacksplace (Winchester), offering essential care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions – from respite stays to bereavement support.
- Newbury Cancer Care, supporting individuals and families through the emotional and practical challenges of cancer.
- Wiltshire Air Ambulance, providing rapid emergency response across the region by air and land.
- Play2Give (Oxfordshire), helping children and families through illness or hardship with vital therapies, support, and play.
Our challenge isn’t just about lengths; it’s about coming together as a team to support the communities where we live and work. Whether you’re cheering us on poolside, sponsoring our efforts, or sharing our story with friends, you are part of the wave of support that keeps these charities afloat.
