Top lettings awards benefits from the experience of our very own Charles Robinson
Charles Robinson, one of the Directors here at Jones Robinson, is fresh back from a gruelling stint as a judge for this year’s The Sunday Times and The Times’ Lettings Agency of the Year Awards. Charles was chosen for his ability to spot professionalism, best practice and talent in the private rental sector, having overseen Jones Robinson’s top two placing in the Best Small Lettings Agency (South East of England) category at the same awards in 2013. This is great news for tenants and landlords in West Berkshire using Jones Robinson, as they can sleep soundly knowing Jones Robinson has such a respected member of staff within the team.
Commenting about his selection and what West Berkshire landlords and tenants can take away from his experience, Charles comments: “It was an immense privilege to be selected as a judge for this year’s Sunday Times and The Times’ Lettings Agency of the Year Awards. It is acknowledgement too that Jones Robinson understands and identifies exemplary levels of service, innovation and diligence in the lettings sector. With Jones Robinson a previous recipient of an accolade, I can appreciate the standards that are expected if an agency wants to call itself an award winner.”
Charles went on to say that being a judge gave him the opportunity to compare the lettings services offered by Jones Robinson, seeing how it measured up to its peers. “Seeing the work of so many other letting agents gave me a fascinating insight into the industry. I can confidently say that, having read nearly 100 submissions, the level of service and professionalism given to landlords and tenants by Jones Robinson is on a par with this year’s award winners.”
Only the most knowledgeable and respected people within lettings are called upon to judge the awards, with the organisers looking for people who recognise exemplary standards and professionalism in the private rental sector. The judging process itself involved ploughing through hundreds of written award entry submissions before making a shortlist. The next step saw Charles Robinson undertake a round of probing telephone interviews, designed to further understand working practices and lettings protocols described in the questionnaires. Once all the telephone interviews were completed, the judges reconvened to make their final decisions. The judging process itself was chaired by The Property Ombudsman with the backing of ARLA and NFOPP, ensuring best practice was recognised and independence achieved.
